About blogOZphere

Hello and welcome to the blogOZphere!  If you don't know already, my name is Oslo (Oz for short) and i'm an entrepreneur, a small business owner (Osmotic Solutions), a musician (on my best days!), a brother, a son, a friend, a collaborator, a consultant, a project manager, an artist manager and obviously a blogger.  I'm also a homosexual.  Needless to say, i'm a lot of things to a lot of different people, but above all else, i am me, the sum of all of my parts, but none greater than the whole.

I am originally from Memphis, TN where i was born and raised by two loving parents with two beautiful sisters.  I'm the middle child which according to conventional wisdom means that i'm supposed to be the forgotten one.  That couldn't have been further from the truth in my family however.  My parents always did their best for both my sisters and i, and i'm thankful to have been raised by them.

I moved to Knoxville in 1996 to attend UT and have been in Knoxville ever since with the exception of a couple of short stints in Nashville and middle of nowhere Georgia while in college.  I graduated with a degree in Business Management in 2001 and shortly there after started my first "real" job working for Target as an HR Manager for one of their stores.

The majority of my professional career i spent at 21st Mortgage, a manufactured housing lender and subsidiary of Clayton Homes.  Most of my time there fluctuated between tolerable and downright dreadful.  I won't go into the details right now though.  I'll save that story for another day.

In addition to Target and 21st, I also worked for AC Entertainment, a concert and festival promoter best known for Bonnaroo, but also the producers of Forecastle Festival (my favorite music festival!), Big Ears and countless live concerts throughout the southeast.  This job was a dream come true, but i  discovered over time that even a dream job has its nightmares (yet another story for another day!) and so i decided to give running my own business another go.  Almost a year and half later, i'm still at it and couldn't be happier even with all of the daily struggles for survival.

As for my personal life, there isn't much to share.  I am single and have been pretty much all of my life.  I've had some opportunities, some of which i regret having not taken and i've had some heartbreaks too that maybe i'll share one day on this blog.  I haven't given up on love, but it's definitely not a high priority at this moment in my life.  I'm fairly satisfied living the life of a bachelor and can honestly say i prefer living alone.  That could change under the right circumstances and with the right guy, but i'm not sitting around waiting.

I began this blog right around the time i turned 30 primarily as a "hip" way to announce my 30th birthday plans.  It has since morphed into a space where i can express my perspective on life, give advice, share some personal experiences and hopefully connect with like-minded people on a deeper level.

My hope is to educate while providing entertaining and inspiring content with an occasional rant to spice things up.  Please subscribe to my blog, feel free to leave comments, and share and like any posts you find useful or entertaining.  Thank you for visiting and i hope you'll come back again soon.

**Disclaimer** Any advice or recommendations i make on this blog are meant to be just that, advice or recommendations.  What you decide to do with the information provided on this blog is up to you.

God speed!
-Oz
