I've seen it happen way too often. People blindly following the lead of others leading them into awful situations (think the housing bubble for a recent example). But it never fails that people are much more likely to follow bad examples than to set good ones. As i'm sure i don't have to tell you, the masses aren't always right, and in a lot of instances they are dead wrong and when they are, the consequences can be dire.
I encourage you to be bold, be thoughtful and make decisions that are best for you. Afterall, just because someone is in front of you in line doesn't mean that they should be followed or that THEY are even in the right line! Chances are they are following the person in front of them and so on and so forth while all the while no one in line has a clue why they're waiting or what they're waiting for.
I urge you, implore you, beg you to start your own line! This may not be necessary in all instances, but in many instances, it will be better for you and society if you forge your own path. God gave us all the ability to think and reason for ourselves. We should use that ability every chance we get. So when necessary, be willing to be the first in line or start your own. You might be surprised to see others following your lead!
